"High Mountain" - Gao Shan oolong is a typical representative of traditional alpine semi-fermented teas - dry leaves form larger balls about the size of peas, the color of the infusion is bright golden or yellow, the aroma is thin, clean, yet strong (with citrus, apricot, peach and honey tones). The tea withstands many tasty infusions and has a long and distinctive aftertaste. Gao Shan 高山 (High Mountain) is a designation for a group of teas growing at high altitudes (1000 m above sea level and more) in China and especially in Taiwan, but also for a specific species Taiwanese Oolong.

Alpine teas usually have a higher price due to the limited amount of tea produced. Thanks to special climatic conditions (lower temperatures, cleaner air, thick fog), these teas are healthier (clearly labeled organic), have a special aroma and taste - thinner, cleaner, stronger and the leaves are larger and stiffer than the teas from below gardens. They oxidize relatively easily and heat treatment is minimal in most of them.
